#StaySafeOnline or screening of the film My Sextortion Diary for high schools

News

The young generation is digital, and that’s perfectly fine. However, the online world, alongside its many advantages, also comes with significant risks. One of them is sextortion. Are you familiar with it?

The e-Bezpečí website defines it as follows: "The term sextortion is derived from the words sex + extortion and refers to blackmail involving intimate materials (photos, videos)." This is precisely the focus of the documentary My Sextortion Diary, which we will be shown for high school students on Friday, April 25.

Following the film, Spanish director Patricia Franquesa will join an online discussion. She has worked in Israel, co-founded Gadea Films, produced La Mami (2019), and directed Oh Dear Sara (2021). Her latest film, My Sextortion Diary (2024), documents her fight for her own rights as a victim of a cybercriminal who blackmailed her using intimate images stolen from her laptop.

We look forward to welcoming the students of the Žďár High School.

Stay safe online!
