Film tip
Recently, world geopolitics has been attracting more attention from ordinary mortals than we probably like. At the One World NMnM festival, we will be screening a double block of films for high school students about Chinese "surveillance" over the Uyghurs and Taiwan.
The Uyghur minority is severely oppressed, China is trying to "re-educate" people in cruel internment camps, opponents of the regime are persecuted and tortured. Taiwan is an island of freedom, a democratic dwarf next to a totalitarian giant
After the screening, we will offer high school students a discussion with Zuzana Košková, a sinologist and head of the Red Watch analytical program at the non-governmental organization Security Center for European Values. Her areas of research interest include Chinese media, propaganda, Chinese influence and human rights, so she is an expert in her own right. We look forward to seeing students from the Bishop's Gymnasium in Žďár n. S. and the Nové Město na Moravě Secondary School on Thursday, April 24th in the morning.
