Alice is spending the summer at her grandfather’s house. But instead of sharing adventures together, she escapes into the online world, failing to notice what’s going on around her. However, when a heavy thunderstorm rolls in, she’s finally forced to put her screen down.
Summer is usually a time of discovery and outdoor play. But while her grandfather is picking strawberries and tending to his butterfly collection, Alice is catching butterflies on the screen of her tablet. Meanwhile, in the real world, a heavy storm is brewing. The first raindrops and bare feet in the wet grass bring Alice back to reality and help her find common ground with her grandfather. This animated documentary explores the impact of the online world on the relationship between grandchildren and grandparents, as well as the fragility of mutual understanding.
