Petr Orel

ornithologist and ecologist, head of the Bartošovice Rescue Station

Petr Orel has been involved in nature and landscape conservation issues since his high school graduation. For many years, he has also led the Wildlife Rescue Station in Bartošovice, the oldest facility of this nature in Central Europe. Logically, he is primarily involved in species protection of animals. In connection with the operation of the station, he encountered a number of cases of bird crime. He was also active in municipal politics for decades, and for one election term I served as a senator for the Novojičín constituency.
